CyberAssistant "Kate"
On May 14th 2007 the Information Technology Department launched a computer-based eligibility notification system called PhoneTree MD. You may have heard of similar systems before as many Dr.'s offices, and local school systems are using such notification devices. The goal is to make a simple notification to our donors when they are eligible to donate blood. The call takes about 30 seconds to complete. We are using a NASA approved TTS (Text to Speech) voice translator affectionately named "Kate". If you stop in to donate blood as a result of being called by Kate, please let the registration person at the Center where you donate know. We'd love to hear what you think about this system.
